PINEAPPLE LAB’S THE UNDERCURRENT HIGHLIGHTS 30 MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTISTS UNDER 30
Pineapple Lab, the creative hub located in Poblacion, Makati, is pleased to announce its main exhibit for July 2017. Entitled The Undercurrent, this month’s showcase features new works in diverse mediums by thirty artists under the age of 30 based in and around Metro Manila.
The Undercurrent will be a convergence of young contemporary artists who are currently on the visual arts radar, from Isobel Francisco and Rob Cham, to the ones to watch out for – Jappy Agoncillo and Soleil Ignacio among others, all contributing to a new wave of creatives changing the game on their own terms. This generation of traditional and digital creators is redefining the face of Filipino art beneath the surface – a counter flow of talent at the helm of navigating through Manila’s creative industries.
Curated by the Team at Pineapple Lab led by Programs & Galleries Manager Fiona Lazaro, the works vary from sculpture to graphic design and seek to portray each artist’s distinct style and evolving techniques. They are the result of the artists’ collective responsibility to take what is current and preserve it.
The Undercurrent opens on July 13 through July 30. An artists’ reception will be held at Pineapple Lab on July 13 at 6 PM and is open to the public.
